COME SING STAINER'S CRUCIFIXION

 A special Churches Together in Windsor (CTW) Choir is being formed to give a devotional performance of Stainer's Crucifixion on Sunday, 21 March at the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, as part of the Windsor Festival Spring Weekend.  Stainer's work will be preceded by the anthem 'Greater love' by John Ireland and by prayers from CTW clergy. Admission will be Free, with a retiring collection to cover expenses, and the performance will start at 7.00pm. The performance will be conducted by John Halsey, with Brian Henry (organ), Ronan Busfield (tenor) and Gareth Dayus-Jones (baritone).
 
Parishioners and other Windsor Festival goers are invited to swell the choir for this community event. Please do consider coming along to sing! Major rehearsals are scheduled as follows:
 
1. Friday, 12 March, 7.45pm-9.30pm, at the Parish Hall next to All Saints Church
2. Sunday, 21 March, 2.30pm-4.30pm, at St John the Baptist Church
 
Additional practice time will be as part of regular Team choir practices 7.30pm-8.30pm on Fridays 5 March and 19 March.
 
A number of vocal scores will be provided, but please bring your own copy if you have one.  Please email htwindsor@hotmail.co.uk if you have any queries.

Admission £5 (Concessions £4)

Concert by the Choristers of St George's Chapel, Windsor with Tim Byram-Wigfield (Organ/Director)

Admission £10 (Under 16s, Free)

Organ recital by Laurence Williams, Organ Scholar, St George's, Windsor. Programme includes: Mendelssohn, JS Bach, Heiller

Sunday, 5 July, 2.30pm-5.00pm

Wine Tasting at Stanlake Park Winery, hosted by Peter Dart (former organist of Windsor Parish Church)

Tickets £10, of which £8 goes to the organ restoration fund

Marathon Organ Recital "Any requests?" by David Goode and Organ Students of Eton College

Please submit 'sealed bids' for items to be played. Submit bids by 5 September to jphalsey@btinternet.com or to The Organist, Windsor Parish Church, End Cottage, Ashford Lane, Dorney, Berks, SL4 6QU. Successful bidders will be contacted in advance.

Saturday, 3 October, 2.00pm-5.00pm

Marathon Organ Recital "Mendelssohn (1809-1847)" by Friends of Windsor Parish Church Organ

The programme will include the greater part of Mendelssohn's organ works. Performers: Malcolm Stowell, John Halsey, Ian Hillier, Jonathon Holl, Relf Clark, Brian Henry. At approximately 3.30pm there will be a short talk on the history of the organ, given by Ian Hillier.

 

Admission £8. Tickets from Windsor Festival or at the door.
