Saturday Surgery

The Clergy’s Saturday Surgery, for anyone wanting to talk about planning a Wedding or Baptism or discuss Confirmation or children preparing for Communion, is working very well and starting on 4 June it will run from the slightly earlier time of 9.30am to 11.00am at Clewer St Stephen Church in Vansittart Road.  Car parking is available in the church car park.

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals in the New Windsor Team Ministry

Baptisms

If you would like your child (or yourself) to be baptised then please ask for a form the next time you’re in church.  Revd Ainsley Swift (vicar), Revd June Faulkner, Revd John Quick, Revd Margaret Bird or Revd Mary Barnes will then get in contact with you.

In baptism we are thanking God for his gift of life and starting your child on a journey of faith, supported by you, godparents, family, friends and your church family.  We ask you to collect your form from church so that you can meet us!

There is no charge for baptisms (although we’re always grateful for any contributions left in the plate on the way out!).  You do not have to be baptised in the parish in which you live, although if your child is baptised outside your parish the priest will let your vicar know.

Weddings

If you live in a parish, or have a “connection” to the church in which you wish to be married, you can be considered for marriage there.  If you would like to marry in one of the churches in the New Windsor Team Ministry please start by speaking to Revd Ainsley Swift (vicar), Revd June Faulkner, Revd John Quick, Revd Margaret Bird or Revd Mary Barnes (or if you are in the army, your padre).  Marriage is the decision of the priest so cannot just be booked by calling the church office.

Funerals

Your loved one is entitled to a funeral in the parish in which they have lived regardless of whether he/she was a churchgoer.  Usually the funeral director will contact the priest, who will then spend time with you prior to the service, and offer you their support and that of the parish afterwards.
